FRONT DESK RECEPTIONISTS

BAP is looking for a new Front Desk Receptionist to join our team starting in September!

BAP is an inclusive & open community dedicated to making healthcare accessible to all. Reception serves as the welcoming committee to the clinic and sets the tone for the patient experience.

We seek someone who:

  • Excels in prioritizing and managing multiple moving parts

  • Communicates effectively with a diverse range of people and roles

  • Brings experience with acupuncture, reception, and/or wellness

  • Knows the Mindbody software and Google Suite, or can learn them quickly

  • Cares for physical spaces with diligence and resourcefulness 

  • Embraces collaboration and a team approach to addressing issues that arise

  • BIPOC folks and Spanish language speakers are always a plus

This position is generally between 10-20 hrs/week. Saturday availability is a must. The rate is $18/hr after onboarding/training. We also offer one complementary acupuncture session per week as well as a 10% discount on clinic products and herbs. Customer Service

  • Welcome patients in a warm, positive manner and guide them within the clinic space 

  • Respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries about BAP’s services 

  • Track patient arrivals and departures

  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality

  • Encourage and book Follow Up appointments as patients need

  • Facilitate communication between patients and practitioners

  • Explain, uphold, and use sound judgment regarding BAP policies

  • Forward special cases to Manager & Owner when appropriate

Administrative Tasks 

  • Check and address all calls, voicemails, and emails while on shift

  • Ensure all New Patients complete an Intake & Consent Form

  • Process patient payments and maintain practitioner Daysheets accordingly

  • Scan and upload all relevant files into Google Drive

  • Track, receive and stock clinic supplies as needed

  • Price and update MindBody inventory for all retail products

  • Put out / bring in Sandwich Board daily

  • Post schedule openings to Instagram & Facebook stories daily

Clinic Housekeeping & Maintenance

  • Keep all areas tidy and organized, following clinic maintenance routines

  • Clean bathrooms and maintain kitchen/breakroom daily

  • Restock inventory and update inventory checklist

  • Receive laundry delivery and restock fresh linens

  • Restock toilet paper and paper towels

  • Consolidate and prepare trash & recycling for pickup

  • Wash and dry cups & gua sha spoons

  • Refill Berkey water filter when low 

  • Clean, dust, and sanitize surfaces


PRACTITIONERS

Our licensed acupuncturists are caring, grounded, well-organized, strong communicators, like to work as part of a community clinic team, and are comfortable treating in a fast-paced setting.

Our contracted practitioners:

  • hold their own malpractice insurance;

  • commit to treating 2 shifts per week (shifts are approximately 5 hours);

  • attend quarterly meetings;

  • are a healing presence;

  • show up fully and on time (15-30 min before first scheduled patient);

  • commit to caring for the physical space while present;

  • give 2-3 weeks notice when taking time off; 

  • commit to serving at BAP for at least 1.5 years;

  • and give 1 month notice when they no longer want to serve as a BAP practitioner.

  • Weekend shifts are often needed.

Practitioners are independently contracted and receive a percentage of fees collected from patients during their shift. 

We value BIPOC practitioners and Spanish language speakers are always a plus.
